Thank You!!!

Egyptian FestivalI just wanted to take a moment to write and let you know that your volunteer services during Taste of Egypt event last weekend are greatly appreciated.

You have taken time from the “busy-ness” of your own schedule to participate in ministry opportunity here at SPSA Church. While the church has greatly benefited from your service, please understand that God Himself sees and rewards those who diligently work for Him with little or no regard for earthly recognition.

At times it may seem that much of the work is “behind the scenes”, and no one really cares. I must encourage you and remind you that in reality it is God that we are working for, and all glory and honor should go directly to Him. Our lives of service can have a tremendous impact on the wondering world around us: Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Again, thank you, and may God Bless you.

In Christ,

Father Andrew

Hands and dollars on clothesline Challenge by: Simon Cattan

Dear SPSA Members and Friends,

Simon Cattan would like to propose the following Challenge to our Youth.

During the two-day Festival there will be hundreds of cans/bottles left behind by our guests.

I encourage our Youth to band together and collect and return as many cans/bottles (empties) as they possibly can as a TEAM.

The money earned from these returns to be donated to Sunday School Program.  Assume 250 empties per day which is 500 total, at 5 cents per empty is $25.00.

That’s not all, work as a team, collect and return all the empty cans/bottles at the same time to receive the maximum benefit from this Challenge.

Show me only the highest valued receipt (possibly 2, if cans & bottles are separate) from returns, and I will donate the equal value of those receipts to the Sunday School Program.

I encourage all our Church Members to Challenge our Youth and contribute to our Sunday School Program based on the value of the returns.  Will you commit to matching 100%; perhaps 75% or 50%; or whatever amount is comfortable?  Please reply with your pledge to contribute before the empties start to appear on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Thank You for great service

Dear Beloved,

Happy Blessed Monday to all of you,

Our Lord Jesus Christ said in John 12:26 “If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

I would like to thank all of you for a great service you did in our 1st Egyptian Festival and I pray that God may reward you the eternal instead of the temporal. There is no words I can say which can match what our Lord Jesus Christ promised us that the Father will honor you.

The past 2 days I witnessed the fellowship, love, patience, dedication and the support form all of congregation. Also I take my hat (Emma) of for all of our Jr. Youth & Youth for making this event happen through there prays, excitement, hard working and being the high light of the event to Stamford Community.

Our Egyptian Festival is just the beginning of our ministry, It was an ice breaker to Stamford community and to the city officials.

God works in mysterious way, through 5 loaves and 2 fish he feed the multitude and we all should pray in one soul that God may manifest his work in our small young church in order that his words reach the multitudes of people in South Connecticut.

Also I would like to thank all of our friends who came all the way from North Connecticut to help us setting up, cleaning, greeting visitors and supporting us, May God Bless them 10 folds & keep our Love, Fellowship and being one in the body of Christ forever.

Special thanks to Fr. Abraham, Fr. Issac & Archdeacon Mikhail Ibrahim  for there great blessing yesterday.  I would also like to thank Fr. Angelos for his encouraging phone call and his prayers, May God Bless all there Services.

Father Andrew Awad
